it has been a while!

it really has been a while! I've been busy with work and getting ready for school. my summer went well and I'm looking forward to the school year. it is my last and i am ready to be done. i need to start my career and get on with my life. i am so sick of seeing people younger than me graduate from college and start their lives before me. i feel stuck and held back. i want to be done and ready to do whatever i need to do.

this is from a photo shoot with David Welder that happened last monday. it was a really fun shoot. we had a dancer/model that wanted some shots with motion and felling. i think they turned out really cool!

schools out!

i haven't blogged in a while because of finals at school. if you all are wondering; it went well! i didn't do so hot on a history test but besides that i did fine. i should pass.........

homework!

this weekend i worked my ass off on homework. i feel as if i got nothing done. i did take a break sat. afternoon and went and hung out with some friends for an hour or so. they had the coolest dog ever, and now i want a greyhound. and on sunday i played drums at church. nothing else to report.

here is yet another curling photo. i got into the club last night and i had the place to myself. had some fun sliding around on the ice and getting hurt a little but it is all ok, just a few bruises.

tea party

these are some photos i took at the tea party protest that happened on the state capital front lawn. i'm not one for protesting. i don't care the issue or debate, i just don't see the point. if you want something to change, you change it. "." the thing about America though is that everyone is trying to make a buck. everyone wants money! as a member of the U.S. military i can't really fight against the government and don't want to. i know that there are corrupt people in our congress and legislation. these are the people that should be brought to justice. this idea might be a little crazy, but shouldn't the congressmen be only paid enough to just get by? maybe the government could set up housing for them to live in, the government should pay for their food, and that should be all they get. they are serving the people and they should not be living better than the people they speek for.

am i protesting something by posting this blog?

Happy Easter

These are some images of my Easter. i had the opportunity to be in a passion play at my parent's church. my part was small but important. my role was as thief #2 "the good thief" if you do not know the story, i am the thief that repents on the cross. he asks Jesus to remember him when he enters into God's Kingdom, and Jesus replies "today you will be with me in paradise." it was an interesting experience and changed my perspective on what Jesus went through when he was crucified.

EDICT

here are some more curling club photos. i meet up with two teams and learned that curling is a game of edict. it is a splicing of three games, getting closest to the center is similar to "horse shoes," putting english on the stone or "rock" to make it "curl" (from which the term "curling" comes from) is similar to "billiards," and the edict is similar to "golf."

day post

here are some shots that i took throughout the day yesterday. the ones i took at nina's were incognito. i was just having fun shooting the world around me. i'm trying to get bolder with my camera. taking it out and taking pictures of people that i have not talked to. i'm also not trying to capture one person but the entire atmosphere of the space that i am observing.
the shots of my dog were just a fun thing that i did last night. she is so beautiful and fun to play with. she is wicked smart and when she looks at you she just wants to get to know you. her name is Guin.

morning snow

i got up early today! that never happens. i got to school an hour before class! that never happens. i took that extra time to shoot a few for my daily post. this was just outside. the snow was still falling and it was cold but i stuck it out and i think i got a good shot. the snow looks like powdered sugar, and the bench is soaking it in.

CURLING!

it was great to meet Jeff and see curling in person. it is such an interesting sport. thanks Terry for introducing me to Jeff. he is a great guy.

happy st. pattys day!

here are some of the images i shot today. it was a fun experience. i had two students from AVEDA help me with hair and make-up. thanks to my fiance Amber and my friend and fellow CVA student Kristin. i shot about 8 rolls of 120 with my Hasselblad that will be developed next week.

this was an interesting story i was trying for. it is a juxtaposition of formal wear and military uniform. these images are not the final product, i mainly used my digital just for lighting testing and used my Hasselblad for the critical shot.

these are the 4 best shots from my shoot last night. i think it was a blast! i had a lot of fun working with the model, Raina, and thanks to Will for setting it up and helping me compose the shots. i think this was a good test shoot for my 6 page+ magazine layout. i hope to take this story further and bring in other elements. i have two models chosen to use in my layout. the next step will be to scout locations.
