light!

these images really interest me. the light trails incorporated with fashion would create a new fresh look.  or even the light trails coming from the clothing itself. i think the shot could be used to show motion and would be useful in sport clothing. a runner or biker, the light trail would show motion.

these images are from todays test shoot at my internship with David Welder. we just set up the background and lights for a shoot that he has on tuesday. after taking some practical shots we went in for some more experimental and created really interesting images. using long shutters and some christmas lights the end result was fantastic. we hope to be able to reproduce the same shot with a live model.

fashion shoot ideas.

i'm doing some brain storming for ideas to use on a fashion photo shoot. i think i first need to pick a subject or style of clothing to shoot. then a model that works well with the clothing. then i need to begin scouting locations for the shoot it's self. 

    i'm thinking of doing a more urban hip and graffic theme. a vest with a high collared shirt and stylized hair. kind of take it back to the 80's with a touch of early 70's with a mix of some really modern makeup and accessories. as for the location i was thinking city landscape or to really counter act the urban style to go with a rural setting. a studio shoot would do fine as well.

what do i think?

"fashion" what is it? i think it is something to add to what is already there. when God made Adam and Eve, they were perfect in his own image. when they ate the fruit they became aware of their nakedness. then they made their first clothing out of plant leaves. God was the one to make clothing for them. he made their first clothing out of skins.
humans have moved away from the leather outfits unless your planning on getting on your hog and going for a cross country biker trip. it is interesting that we have moved back to the use of plants to make our clothes again. leather can last for a long time, lifetimes. i think that in the future we will move back to leather to provide for us clothing that will be past down from generation to generation. cotton is a good temporary material that is used for one persons life but it does not last.
fashion today is not just clothing. it is an art form used to show off the human form. it is used to build off of what is already there. William said on monday that it is and architectural form. he said that the dress, shirt, pants, hat, or any accessory built up and works with the human body. i agree.
