here are some of the images i shot today. it was a fun experience. i had two students from AVEDA help me with hair and make-up. thanks to my fiance Amber and my friend and fellow CVA student Kristin. i shot about 8 rolls of 120 with my Hasselblad that will be developed next week.
this was an interesting story i was trying for. it is a juxtaposition of formal wear and military uniform. these images are not the final product, i mainly used my digital just for lighting testing and used my Hasselblad for the critical shot.

nice black!

i really like the end results from this shoot. the way the model is framed and the black background is such a deep black that it is beautiful. for my shoot i would love to work with the black and white backgrounds.

these are the 4 best shots from my shoot last night. i think it was a blast! i had a lot of fun working with the model, Raina, and thanks to Will for setting it up and helping me compose the shots. i think this was a good test shoot for my 6 page+ magazine layout. i hope to take this story further and bring in other elements. i have two models chosen to use in my layout. the next step will be to scout locations.

model pose

this is a video that i got inspiration from. i was interested in watching how the model moves and interacts with the photographer. the lighting is stunning! they were not using umbrellas or anything. the result is washed out but clean and one of my favorite styles.

recent photo shoots.

these are some shots that me and David Welder have been working on the past few weeks. the most recent is the group photo that was a great location shoot that i was able to learn a lot. David is a great photographer that kept his cool under pressure, we only had about an hour and a half to shoot every girl individually then all together. most of my time was spent setting up the lights and making sure everything was going smoothly for David.

inspiration!

me and david welder shot this in his studio last thursday. it is kind of what i want to do for my fashion shoot but outside and in and urban environment. i like how the light trails move around the mannequin. it shows motion even though the subject is static. i think for my shoot i don't want to have as much motion, just a few wisps of light. i want the light to look like it is a part of the model or clothing.
